Chief Night Activities
This is the annual evening of fun planned by the Student Council Cabinet as a welcome back to school celebration. The night of fun is kicked off with a first day of school assembly featuring the welcoming of the new Freshman Class, introduction of all fall sports and new faculty, and also includes performances by the band, color guard, poms and cheerleaders. Chief Night is typically the second week of school and includes an evening on the practice football field with a carnival-like atmosphere of fun, games, music and food trucks. Students may purchase tickets for Chief Night during Orientation Week and the week leading up to Chief Night.
Ceremonial Week – OctoberThis is the week-long Homecoming celebration. Homecoming week includes activities that allow students the opportunity to demonstrate their school spirit. Spirit days are planned by the Student Council Cabinet, as well as, door decorating contest with the winning 3rd block class being awarded a donut or pizza party.
The Homecoming Assembly will be the day prior to the Homecoming game and dance and includes the introduction of the Homecoming Court to the student body. The Homecoming Court consists of attendants and Queen Candidates. Attendants are selected by each class and Queen is chosen by the student body. Homecoming Queen Elections are during 3rd period the day preceding the game and dance. Coronation is the evening at half-time of the Homecoming football game.
The Homecoming Dance is the culmination of the Homecoming Week Celebration. Tickets to the dance are sold at lunch during Homecoming week. All eSchool and library fines must be paid in full and students must meet the SPS Attendance Guidelines in order to purchase a ticket.
Dress is typically semi-formal – guys wearing dress pants, dress shirt and optional tie and suit jacket and girls wearing cocktail, midi or maxi formal dresses. Students who wish to bring a guest that is not from Kickapoo must submit a completed Guest Approval Form before buying a ticket. Guest approval forms can be picked up in the main office.Court Warming Dance
